Verona News Brawl in the Streets Two Killed Tybalt Capulet and Mercutio Escalus are the two victims of the brawl in the back streets of Verona. Romeo Montague is banished as a punishment for taking the life of Tybalt. As some witnesses say Romeo only did it to save himself. Others say that he killed him wanting revenge for his friend Mercutio’s death. Mercutio was slain by Tybalt, but some say at this point Romeo was trying to stop the fight, and Tybalt took the first strike. Lord Montague says that Romeo’s punishment is way to strict given the circumstances. Lord and Lady Capulet want justice for their nephew’s death. Their thoughts on Romeo’s punishment were completely different compared to the thoughts of the Montague’s. They think he should be put do death, and not just banishment. On the other hand Lady Montague was so upset she wouldn’t even talk to us. Lord Montague went as far as begging the Prince to let him stay but the prince was very strict on not backing down. Mercutio was even a relative of the Prince, but that had no influence on the punishment. Everyone from both sides of this family skirmish is in a sad mood. Juliet has spent the last 36 hours in her room crying over the death of her beloved cousin Tybalt. As a matter of fact Lord Capulet has just announced that Juliet and Count Paris will be married on Thursday. These plans are to set the mood of the family in a better direction. We spoke with Count Paris, and he says that there has only been a few accounts that he’s talked to Juliet due to the sudden deaths.
